The War of All Against All: Lyrics

Below you should find the complete lyrics to our most recent 7".

1. The War of All Against All-

From factory farms to insolvent banks
Instinctive avarice pushes towards total collapse
The state of nature…it’s coming back
The war of all against all- will it ever end?

From the green scare to Social Darwinian relapse
Inherent malice pushes toward total collapse
The state of nature…never really left
I’ll survive this chaoson the straight edge

2. Backslider

Weak shallow opportunist
Your apostasy will never be excused
You think I care about your happiness?
I hope you choke on the life you consume

No absolution
Fuck your
Plea for excuses

You surrender to the basest passions
You fucking overrule reasons’ commands
You know full well the cost of your actions
Innocents’ blood stains your fucking hands

No absolution
Fuck your
Plea for excuses

I hope you die cold and alone
Like the creatures whose lives you’ve stolen

3. Lex Talionis

Subversion of the intellect
In defense of malevolence
Is blood is the only solvent
That can cleanse their moral sense?

I won’t intercede…Let ‘em bleed

Conceptual gerrymandering
Argumentative handwringing
Evasiveness I won’t endure
Infected minds cannot be cured

I won’t intercede...Let ‘em fucking bleed

4. Regulate

Polluting my air
Clouding my eyes
Cavalier insolence
I fucking despise

You’ve no concern
For anyone else
Think you look cool?
Keep deluding yourself

Heed my warning
Respect my space
Keep your contaminants
Out of my face

Don’t smoke around me
Don’t make that mistake
Keep it up?
I’ll regulate

Don’t smoke around me
Don’t make that mistake
I’ll put you out
I won’t hesitate

5. Indignation

Every drag
Every drink
Every fucking
Failure to think
Every snort
Every toke
Every fucking
Word misspoke

Triggers…my…indignation

Every regret
Every admission
Every fucking
Act of contrition
Every conflict
Every fight
Every fucking
Wasted night

Triggers…my…indignation

Akrasia disguised as recreation
Cultivates my indignation

Try to pass the blame
But there's no escape

They cope with alcohol
I cope with hate

6. Birth of Death

Remove enough planks…the whole raft sinks
This web will collapse if we keep cutting strings
We’re levying a tax on future generations
But present circumstances don’t
Exhaust our obligations

We must prevent the birth of death
By any means…

It’s in our power
 To abort this misconception
But gestation is quick
No time to wait for redirection
Marching whole species
Towards complete eradication
Ignoring every warning
As we rationalize our cravings

We must prevent the birth of death
By any means…

Veganism…or total annihilation

Noose Update October 2011

It's been a while since anyone updated this blog. Noose is a band made up of actual humans so our internet presence is never going to be all that significant. The only reason we have a face-book is because a kid who likes our band made it for us and then gave me administrator status.

Anyway, we have played four shows since the last update:

1. 7/22/11- Ryan's house in Thousand Oaks, CA. This show was awesome. Ryan is awesome. We played the practice space connected to his house as a kind of "warm up" for S & F. There were maybe thirty people piled into a very tiny room. We played perfectly. Unfortunately, the show got shut down by the police after we played.

2.7/23/11- Sound and Fury Fest in Santa Barbara, CA. The fest was an experience. Joey deserves lots of credit for managing to set this thing up. We opened by totally butchering a Chorus cover, but recovered to play a half-decent set. We got a reaction from those who were there to see us but, overall, this was not our kind of crowd. I'm grateful we had the opportunity to play, but this year's S & F seemed to me to be populated mostly by tourist bros looking to do a little moshing in between their drinking, grilling, and bridge nine board posting and actual children who have never heard the Antidote 7".

3. 8/14/11- w/Punch in a Chicago Basement. This show was full of posers and Muppets. A woman brought her child up front, inhibiting the mosh. Many hand-rolled cigarettes were smoked.  Punch is OK but their fanbase is not interested in hardcore. They're interested in "empowerment"...typical house white politics. The people who were at this show are now busy occupying wall street while eating white castle. Fuck Art.

4. 9/24/11- React! Showcase at 924 Gilman Street in Berkeley, CA. Our best show of the last six months. We were tight, people moshed hard, and a dude smashed a painting during "Fuck Art." What more can you say?

In other news, we have a new record coming out shortly. Pre-Order it from React! here: http://www.itstimetoreact.com/store/

A record release show will take place some time before the end of 2011.

We have a show in Elgin on 11/15/11. Check the details here:http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=158008354291316

Finally, some dude got a Noose inspired tattoo. America Rules.

Noose Update July 2011

It's been a few months since we updated the blog. Here's what's happened since:

We played a few shows in Chicago and one show in Indianapolis. We recorded a new seven inch. It'll be out on React! this fall. We're headed off to Sound and Fury in a week. We may be playing a show in LA  on Friday the 22nd, the day before we play S & F in Santa Barbara. Keep your eyes peeled for more info.

We made new shirts:

The internet hates these shirts. That makes us love them even more. To get one check out: http://noosexchicago.bigcartel.com/

These will probably be sold out after S & F, so if you want one...now is the time.

We'll have a bunch of new designs available at S & F as well.

We also have a Chicago show coming up on August 14th with Punch. Be there!

Band Update

Since Matt just posted up lots of recent Noose media,  I figured the world wide web might want a general Noose update.

1. Last month we embarked on a ten day tour to the east coast with fellow Chicagoans Razor X Fade. Although my inability to deal with prolonged discomfort turned me into a raging dick,  we survived and even had some fun along the way. I'm not going to provide a complete tour summary. I met lots of cool people and saw lots of cool stuff. All of the shows were pretty good, although Montreal, DC, and Louisville were my favorites. We played with lots of excellent bands including some well known folks (LOJ, Mindset, Alert, Face Reality, Vaccine) and some less well known folks. I want to draw your attention to two bands we played with that you may not have had a chance to check out: Progression from Montreal and Hoax from Western Mass.

Progression is a vegan SE band with a 90s sound that reminded me of Ressurection in a weird way. What separates them from most cruddy 90s revival bands is that they can actually PLAY; there's some legitamate talent in that band. I looked to see if they had an online presence but didn't find much. Maybe you can use google better than me and turn up some MP3s. As far as I know they don't have anything out yet, but they do have a guitar player in the Omegas...so there you go...

Hoax is on Deranged. They somehow flew under my radar and they may have flown under yours. They play rough, dirgy hardcore with hard as nails slow parts.Their show in Chicago two weeks ago was fan-fucking-tastic. Get their seven inch: http://www.derangedrecords.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=524

Also, check out Orchard Skateshop in Boston, MA: http://www.orchardshop.com/

We met one of the owners- Broderick Gumpright- at our Boston show. He is not just a ripper, but a vegan straight edge ripper: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1wJsSSbeAY

Support your own!

2. We have two upcoming Midwest shows. May 21st in Chicago (w/Alert, Enough, and Nightburner) and June 18th in Indianapolis (w/Sacred Love, Picked Clean, and Black & Blue). The complete details are available on the internet.

3. We now have a big cartel site. The wolf tee shirts are still available...but not for much longer. We'll have a couple new designs available in the coming weeks. Keep an eye out: http://noosexchicago.bigcartel.com/

4. On July 23rd we will be playing Sound & Fury fest in beautiful Santa Barbara, CA. http://soundandfuryfest.com/

5. Within the next month we will be recording six songs for a new seven inch on React! While there's no concrete time line for its release, I'd expect it by the end of 2011.http://www.itstimetoreact.com/

6. We now have a face-book page, for whatever that's worth.  http://www.facebook.com/#!/NOOSExCHICAGO

7. Long boards are the wrong boards.
